ladies, when was the last time you got dolled up to go on a proper date?
i’m generally pretty low-key about dates. especially in the early stages of a relationship, i’m happy to get to know someone in a more casual atmosphere (over coffee, at a concert, while wandering an art gallery). however, i absolutely love to get dressed up for fancier outings. and on those rare evenings, my go-to look is a simple black dress, heels, and a pop of red lipstick.
for the first time in ages, i woke up ready to take on the week. no case of the mondays set in today. maybe it’s because the passing of easter and the arrival of april has me feeling lighter. maybe it’s the sunshine. maybe it’s plans for another weekend trip. all i know i’ve wanted to dance all day. to something like this.

good morning friends! do you have any big plans for the weekend? easter has long been one of my favorite holidays and i’m looking forward to celebrating tomorrow. i hope you all celebrate something this weekend – be it a holiday or simply the arrival of spring. see you monday. xx
this simple yet colorful and chic ensemble is perfect for easter sunday.
pitcher strawberry margaritas would be a refreshing spring cocktail to share with friends.
speaking of strawberry, this layered mousse cake would make for an elegant easter dessert.

is it me or does feeling like you look good while working out serve as an extra motivator? i always seem to log extra time at the gym if i throw on an ensemble that feels more put-together than just a t-shirt and shorts. here are some of my favorites pieces of fitness apparel.
i found this song in the back alleys of youtube last summer and have been obsessed with it ever since. kyla la grange reminds me a bit of florence welch – while they both have distinct sounds, both artists have gorgeous vocals paired with swelling accompaniments. ‘vampire smile’ is dark and romantic; hope you enjoy this acoustic version as much as i do.

happy weekend friends! it’s hard to believe that it’s already friday. my plans are pretty low-key since i was out of town, mostly involving spring cleaning and sunday brunch with friends. does anyone else feel like they need a day to catch up after a vacation?
while we ride out the end of the cold weather, i’m using fresh tulips to keep a spring feel in my apartment
i’m not usually keen on mixing prints but this stripes and dots combo looks comfy and effortlessly chic.

loving this glamorous workspace.
oh, what i wouldn’t do for a well-organized walk-in closet.
